Head Lad Alison Alldritt and Dabbers Ridge
"I have worked for Mr Hills for a long time and it's a great
job. I am a long term supporter of Liverpool.
My favourite horse, even though he is no longer here is Storming
Home. I had 3 good years with him, leading up in all the top races,
and last year he finally won the Group 1 he deserved. I had some
good times with him especially going to Japan. Even though it sounds
silly I miss him as he had so much character."

"When I was five I followed racing when Red Rum ran at Aintree.
My dream was to ride over fences and to lead up King Cherry in
the John Hughes Chase at Aintree was a dream come true. But two
years later King Cherry finished 2nd at 100-1 to Northern Starlight.
I have also been a member of the Elite Racing Club, which got me
going racing. It's great fun being in racing its my hobby and my
job.
I also look after Mr Hills’ chickens and take them to the
shows. I have had one Reserve Best in Show, 9 firsts, 8 seconds
9 thirds and 3 reserves. We have got White Japanese, Dutch Partridge,
Millefleur, Barbu D’Anvers, Silver Spangled Hamburg and Nankins
in the breeding programme.
Red Rum and King Cherry are my favourite
racehorses. Red Rum ran five times in the National, winning three
times and was second
twice when the fences were really big."

including at Ascot. I am married to Val and have 2 grown up children.

My favourite horse was Gildoran. He was good enough to win 3 races
for me and went on to win 2 Ascot Gold Cups.

Oksana Kravtsan and Eldaana
Oksana and her husband Arkady have been here since 2000,
from the Ukraine and were joined by Arkady’s brother Ihor
a year later. They were one of the first eastern European’s
to be employed in the area in our industry and their pioneering
venture has paved the way for others to follow suit. It has proved
a rich seam helping alleviate the staffing crisis that faced our
industry.

“I have been in racing since 1968 and I have worked
for Mr Hills since March 1988. I am one of the travelling Head Lads.
His favourite horse was Further Flight as he was an honest horse
and he gave him great pleasure to be with him throughout his career.” |
