John ‘Blue’ Cannon

He has been in racing since 1975 and worked for Mr Hills since 1979. He is a lifelong supporter of Coventry FC. Mr Combustible was the best horse that he looked after. He did well to be 3rd in the St Leger.

Bob Grace

Bob has worked for Mr Hills for many years and during his time here he has built up a good association with Mr and Mrs Corbett as he has looked after many of their horses, including Nicer who won the Irish 1000 Guineas. He was so taken with the horse that he would like his epitaph to read “Here lies the lad who looked after Nicer”. Bob is also keen on football and has been a life long supporter of Bristol City, for his sins. He is generous to charities particularly the local Ladbrokes and the Injured Jockeys Fund as he feels he has a particular empathy with Jockeys.

Mark Lashly with La Cucaracha

“I am one of the Head Lads in Barn 2.  My duties include medicals and feeding of the horses in my care.  I also drive the horse box when I'm needed.

La Cucaracha (pictured) is my favourite horse because she has the heart of a lion!  She had career ending injuries and bouced back twice, winning races at all thetop levels."
